Tasting notes

Deep ruby red, almost black at the core. The nose opens with ripe red fruit, strawberry and black cherry with a hint of spice. The palate is soft, fruity and fresh, with rounded tannins and a pleasant, juicy finish.

About this wine

Le Coq Rouge is a red from Sacha Lichine, the Bordeaux-born vintner best known for redefining Provence rosé, who here turns to the sunny vineyards of the Languedoc in southern France. The wine carries the Pays d'Oc IGP designation, which gives growers the freedom to blend classic Mediterranean varieties.

It is a blend of Syrah and Grenache, two grapes that thrive in the warm, dry climate of the region. Each variety is vinified separately under temperature control, with a long fermentation designed to draw out colour and fruit before the final blend is assembled.

The result is a generous, easy-going Mediterranean red with a modern, fruit-forward style, made for everyday enjoyment at the table.
