Tasting notes

Deep ruby red. The nose shows ripe plum, black cherry and blackberry jam with hints of dried fig, sweet spice and Mediterranean herbs. The palate is full and round, with soft tannins, warm fruit and a pleasant, slightly spicy finish.

About this wine

Produttori di Manduria is a historic cooperative founded in 1932 in Manduria, in the province of Taranto, the town that gives its name to Puglia's most famous red appellation. Its members farm Primitivo vineyards on the red soils of the Salento, many of them still trained as traditional bush vines.

Lirica is the cooperative's classic expression of Primitivo di Manduria: made entirely from Primitivo, it captures the generous, sun-ripened character of the variety in a supple, approachable style. The 2019 vintage has had time to soften in bottle, bringing out its ripe fruit and warm spice.
