Tasting notes

Dense, dark ruby. A complex, multi-layered nose of blackberry, black cherry and plum with notes of spice, dried herbs and a touch of earth. Full-bodied with firm, ripe tannins and good acidity, the concentration of old vines showing in a long, persistent finish.

About this wine

Rossidi Mavrud 2020 is made from Bulgaria's most celebrated indigenous red grape. Mavrud is a late-ripening variety traditionally grown in the Thracian Lowlands, known for producing deep, structured wines with a long life ahead of them.

The grapes for this wine come from old vines more than 40 years of age. It is precisely this vine age that lays the foundation for an exceptionally complex and multi-layered wine, with concentrated dark fruit, spice and the firm tannic backbone the variety is famous for.

Serve at 16–18 °C with grilled red meat, game, hearty stews and aged cheeses.
