Tasting notes

Ruby red with garnet hints. Fruity aromas of peach and wild berries, with herbal and floral nuances. Medium-bodied and balanced on the palate, with fine tannins, fresh acidity and good length, finishing on red fruit and spice. Drinks well now and can age for a few years.

About this wine

Vigna Santa Rosalia lies in the commune of Alba and was planted in 2004 with two Nebbiolo clones, Lampia and Michet. The Brezza family, organic growers based in Barolo since 1885, bottle it as a single-vineyard Nebbiolo d'Alba.

Winemaking aims to preserve the freshness and elegance of the grape: a traditional fermentation is followed by about twelve months in oak casks and the same time in bottle before release.

The outcome is a medium-bodied, balanced Nebbiolo that is approachable soon after release yet has enough structure to develop for several years.
