Tasting notes

Deep, almost opaque ruby. The nose is rich, with dark fruit, dried plum and spicy varietal notes. The palate is powerful and structured, with a dense, clean texture, ripe tannins and a long, warm finish. It opens up nicely with a little air and is best served in a generous glass, where its fruit and structure can fully unfold.

About this wine

"9Cento" (Novecento) is part of the classic range of Cantina Museo Albea in Alberobello, and its name is a nod to the winery's long history. It is made entirely from hand-picked Negroamaro grown around Brindisi.

About 30% of the grapes are dried on racks in a controlled room following the appassimento method, which concentrates sugar, colour and aroma. The wine then ages for eight months in Nevers oak barriques before resting in bottle.

The result is a powerful, full-bodied red with great concentration and the potential to develop in bottle for several years.
