Tasting notes

About this wine

Istar Pinot Gris comes from Bononia Estate, a winery working near Vidin in the far north-west of Bulgaria, the country's most northerly wine-growing area on the Danube. Pinot Gris is a grey-skinned mutation of Pinot Noir, which explains its fuller body and softer acidity compared with other white varieties.

The wine shows a profile of pear, melon and almond with a light honeyed note. It is dry and rounded, with gentle freshness and a smooth, textured palate that makes it an easy companion at the table.

Serve at 10–12 °C with white meat, fish or soft cheeses.
