Tasting notes

Bright ruby. The nose offers red cherry, raspberry, rose and a peppery, mineral note. The palate is medium-bodied and fresh, with fine tannins, lively acidity and a clean, savoury finish. About this wine

Proprietà Sperino is the estate in Lessona, in northern Piedmont, revived by Paolo De Marchi, the man behind Isole e Olena in Chianti Classico, and run today with his son Luca. The vineyards lie on the acidic, sandy marine soils of the Alto Piemonte hills near Biella.

"Uvaggio" is a blend led by Nebbiolo with the traditional local varieties Vespolina and Croatina. It offers a fresh, approachable expression of the north Piedmontese style, with finesse rather than weight. It is a wine of balance and drinkability, ideal at the table.
