Tasting notes

Deep ruby with purple hints. Warm aromas of ripe red and black berries, plum and Mediterranean herbs with a peppery, spicy edge. The palate is generous and fruit-driven, with soft, rounded tannins, gentle acidity and a warm, spicy finish in the southern French style.

About this wine

Kapatovo GMS is the red blend of Kapatovo Family Estate, whose plantings lie only 5 km from Melnik in the far south-west of Bulgaria, far from industry and the pollution of modern life. The estate began its story in 1992 and today covers more than 1,200 decares in the lands of the villages of Kapatovo and Zornitsa, with orchards, lavender, olives and 270 decares of wine vineyards.

The estate grows the white grapes Chardonnay, Viognier and Sauvignon Blanc, while its reds include Syrah, Marselan, Petit Verdot, Primitivo, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Carignan. GMS takes its initials from the classic southern French trio Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah, giving a warm, spicy, fruit-driven red.

Serve at 16–18 °C with grilled meat, lamb and Mediterranean dishes.
