Tasting notes

Yellow with pale green highlights. The nose is delicate and floral, with white blossom, citrus and a hint of spice. The palate is fresh and lightly spicy, with bright fruit, gentle aromatic lift and a clean finish.

About this wine

Domaine Albert Mann in Wettolsheim, run by the Barthelmé family, is one of the leading biodynamic estates of Alsace. Senteurs des Vignes is a blend of seven Alsace varieties – Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Auxerrois, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Gris, Muscat and Chasselas – grown on plots in Wettolsheim, Kientzheim and Sigolsheim.

The vines are 35 to 40 years old and rooted in mostly stony limestone soils. The wine ferments spontaneously with native yeasts, rests about six months on fine lees and is bottled unfiltered, giving a fresh, aromatic white that captures the whole spectrum of Alsace in one glass.
