Tasting notes

Ruby red. A soft, fruity nose of cherry and red berries with a touch of gentle spice. The palate is round and smooth, with velvety tannins, moderate acidity and a pleasant, fruity finish. A wine for immediate enjoyment rather than cellaring.

About this wine

Santa Cristina is a label of the Antinori family, whose winery near Cortona in Tuscany continues a tradition of easy-drinking Tuscan wines that goes back more than sixty years.

Le Maestrelle brings together the international varieties Merlot and Syrah with Tuscany's own Sangiovese. Each grape is fermented separately in stainless steel and the wines are blended only afterwards, then given a short period of ageing to soften the tannins.

The 375 ml half bottle is a practical choice for a dinner for two or a single evening glass.
