Tasting notes

Intense red with violet reflections. The nose shows black cherry and violet, with nuances of cocoa and coffee. The palate is soft, round and fruity, with gentle tannins, moderate acidity and a pleasant, easy finish of ripe red fruit that makes the wine very approachable.

About this wine

Santa Cristina is a historic label of the Antinori family, whose first wine was created more than sixty years ago. Since 2006 the winery near Cortona, on a hill between Siena and Perugia, has carried this tradition forward with wines in a modern Tuscan style.

Santa Cristina Rosso is a blend of several varieties led by Sangiovese with Merlot and Syrah. Each grape is vinified separately in stainless steel at controlled temperature to preserve its fruit, and the wines are blended before a short rest prior to bottling.

The result is a soft, fruity and immediately enjoyable red, one of the most popular everyday wines of Tuscany and a reliable companion to simple Italian cooking.
