Tasting notes

Brilliant violet-ruby red. Ripe red cherry on the nose, with herbaceous notes, dried flowers and mixed spice. Fresh, agile and convivial on the palate, with light tannins and a subtle savouriness.

About this wine

Grottaia Rosso is the young, fresh red of Caccia al Piano, from the estate's youngest vineyards on the Via Bolgherese. It blends Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot in equal parts.

The grapes are hand-picked into 15 kg crates, each variety and parcel separately, fermented for about two weeks in stainless steel and aged in steel only, to keep their freshness and fruit. This listing is the 2019 vintage.
