Tasting notes

Bright ruby red with purple reflections. The nose offers blackberry, black cherry, blueberry and blackcurrant, lifted by spicy notes of black pepper and cinnamon. The palate is full and generous, with present yet exceptionally velvety tannins and a long, fruit-filled finish.

About this wine

Tenuta di Castiglioni is the flagship red of the Frescobaldi estate of the same name, near Montespertoli, one of the family's oldest properties in Tuscany. The blend brings together Bordeaux varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, with the local Sangiovese.

After fermentation the wine ages for 12 months in barriques followed by two months in bottle, which builds structure without overwhelming its fruit-driven character. The 2022 vintage has 13.5% alcohol.

Bright ruby with purple reflections, it offers blackberry, black cherry, blueberry and blackcurrant with spicy notes of black pepper and cinnamon. The tannins are present but remarkably velvety, making it a generous, modern Tuscan red.
