About this wine

This Valpolicella Classico by Secondo Marco, the winery of Marco Speri in Fumane, comes from vineyards at the foot of the Fumane valley at 170 metres, on clay-limestone soil: 50% Corvina, 40% Corvinone, 5% Rondinella and 5% Molinara.

The hand-picked grapes ferment spontaneously for 15 to 20 days in steel; the wine then ages 12 months in concrete, six months in large Slavonian oak and nine months in bottle, much longer than most Valpolicella. Bright ruby, it is fruity with prevailing spice, savoury, light and very drinkable. This listing is the 2017 vintage.
