Tasting notes

Dark garnet red. Sloe, plum, sour cherry and pomegranate, with dried wood and tobacco. Lively and concentrated, with tight, grippy tannins and a long finish.

About this wine

Granato is Foradori's great Teroldego, from old pergola-trained vines on four hectares of the Campo Rotaliano at Mezzolombardo, in Trentino, on alluvial gravel and pebble soils. The estate is farmed biodynamically by Elisabetta Foradori and her family.

The grapes ferment in large open vats and the wine ages 15 months in tonneaux. It has a particular concentration and density: dark garnet, with sloe, plum, sour cherry, pomegranate and tobacco, and tight, grippy tannins that reward time in the cellar. This listing is the 2017 vintage.
