Tasting notes

Deep ruby with violet reflections. The nose is vivid with blackberry, sour cherry, violet and a hint of wild herbs and graphite. On the palate it is juicy and medium-bodied, with fresh acidity, fine-grained tannins and a clean mineral finish that carries the dark fruit. Approachable now, it also keeps well for several years.

About this wine

This is the signature wine of Foradori, the biodynamic estate in Mezzolombardo at the heart of the Campo Rotaliano, a gravelly plain shaped by the alluvial deposits of the Noce river. Teroldego is the native grape of this corner of Trentino, and Elisabetta Foradori has been its most influential champion for decades.

The grapes come from several parcels totalling about nine hectares, trained on pergola and Guyot. Each micro-zone is fermented in cement and then the lots are blended into one balanced Teroldego, which ages for twelve months in large casks and cement tanks.

The result is a pure, unforced expression of the variety from the sandy-gravel soils of the Rotaliano plain: juicy, fragrant and food-friendly.
