Tasting notes

Clear golden yellow. The nose is intense, with tropical fruit, quince, passion fruit and spice. The palate is full and broad, balanced by freshness, with a very long finish. Notes of rose petal, lychee and ginger are typical of the variety, and the noble-rot grapes add a honeyed depth.

About this wine

"Am Sand" is the Gewürztraminer of Alois Lageder, the family estate in Magrè that is a leading name in biodynamic farming in Alto Adige.

It comes from selected plots on the stony slopes of Magrè, Termeno and around Lake Caldaro, at 240–370 metres. The grapes are picked in several passes, some with noble rot, and ferment spontaneously. The wine then rests for about nine months on its lees in large casks and steel.

It is an aromatic yet fresh Gewürztraminer of great depth and length.
