Tasting notes

Straw yellow with a reddish glint. The nose offers melon, peach, spice and a mineral note. The palate is rich, lively, fresh and dry, with good texture from the long lees ageing and a clean, persistent finish.

About this wine

Alois Lageder is a family winery in Magrè, South Tyrol, certified by Demeter for biodynamic farming. Porer comes from vineyards in Magrè and Salorno at 210-740 metres, on stony, sandy soils rich in limestone.

Its special character comes from combining three methods: classic vinification, short skin contact with long lees ageing, and whole-bunch vinification, all with spontaneous fermentation. The wine then matures for about nine months on its lees, partly in large casks and partly in stainless steel.

Straw yellow with a coppery glint, it is rich, lively, fresh and dry, a Pinot Grigio of unusual depth and character.
