Tasting notes

Deep, dark ruby. The nose offers cherry and dark berries with hints of dried fruit and spice. The palate is warm and full-bodied, with concentrated fruit, soft tannins and a long, spicy finish. Notes of raisin, cocoa and sweet spice add depth as the wine opens in the glass.

About this wine

"Costasera" is the classic Amarone of Masi, one of the reference houses of the Valpolicella. Its name means "evening slope": the vineyards of the Valpolicella Classica face the sunset over Lake Garda, where light reflected from the water and a mild climate help the grapes ripen fully.

Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara are dried before fermentation using the traditional appassimento method, which concentrates sugars, colour and aromas.

The result is a dense, warm and deep Amarone with ripe fruit, soft tannins and a long, spicy finish.
