Tasting notes

Deep ruby colour. Blackcurrant and blackberry on the nose with fine oak support. The palate is powerful, elegant and balanced, with ripe tannins and a long finish; it will continue to develop for 10 to 15 years.

About this wine

Peter Sölva is one of the oldest wine estates in Kaltern, South Tyrol, handed down from generation to generation and farming around 20 hectares sustainably. The Amistar line gathers the family's most ambitious wines.

This Cuvée Rosso blends Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Lagrein from vineyards in Kaltern, Tramin, Kurtatsch and Leifers. The grapes are picked late and perfectly healthy, and around 30% of the juice is bled off to concentrate the red wine, which completes malolactic fermentation and ages for one to two years in barriques.

The result is powerful yet elegant, with 10 to 15 years of ageing potential.
