Tasting notes

Deep ruby with garnet glints. A complex nose of ripe red fruit, toasty notes and sweet spice. The palate is soft yet structured, concentrated and long, with fine, silky tannins and a persistent, elegant finish.

About this wine

Silvio Nardi bought the Casale del Bosco estate in Montalcino in 1950, and his first Brunello came from the 1954 vintage. In 1967 he was among the founders of the Brunello consortium. Today the family farms around 80 hectares across two estates, Casale del Bosco to the north-west and Manachiara to the south-east.

This 100% Sangiovese brings together some twenty separate plots from both properties. It shows a deep ruby colour with garnet glints and a complex nose of ripe fruit, toasty notes and spice, with a soft, structured palate, fine silky tannins and great length.
