Tasting notes

Deep garnet red. The nose shows ripe cherry, plum and dark berries with spice, leather and earthy terroir notes. The palate is powerful and elegant, highly structured, with dense tannins and a long finish. Unfiltered: decanting recommended.

About this wine

The story of Siro Pacenti began in 1970, when Siro bought the Pelagrilli estate north of Montalcino; in 1988 his son Giancarlo bottled the family's first Rosso and Brunello. The Riserva PS is their pinnacle, made only in exceptional vintages.

It comes from a single 1.5-hectare vineyard planted by Siro himself in the early 1970s, with vines now over 40 years old. The 100% Sangiovese ages 24 months in 225-litre French barriques and then in bottle, and is released unfiltered: a powerful, elegant and deeply structured Brunello with a strong sense of place.
