Tasting notes

Deep purple colour. A rich, broad nose with fine cedar notes over dark fruit. The palate is juicy and lively, with power balanced by elegance and a firm, structured finish. Ageing potential of more than 20 years.

About this wine

Set in Ludon-Médoc, at the southernmost point of the Haut-Médoc, Château La Lagune is a Third Growth of the 1855 classification. Geologist René Pijassou described its light gravel soil, rich in quartz and agates, as a model for the Médoc, and Jancis Robinson called the 2015 one of the most exciting La Lagunes she can remember.

The blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot is aged on fine lees in French oak barrels, around half of them new each year. In magnum it has the depth and structure to age for more than 20 years.
