Tasting notes
Deep ruby colour. The nose shows cherry, plum and blackberry with a light herbal touch. The palate is silky and medium-bodied, with soft tannins and a dry, balanced finish.
About this wine
Château l'Église d'Armens is a small estate in Saint-Pey-d'Armens, on the plain near Saint-Émilion, created in 1988 by bringing several parcels together. Its buildings face the old village church that gives the property its name.
The vines grow on sandy soils that lie over deep gravel and a clay-limestone base. The blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc is aged in oak barrels and bottled after 10 to 12 months.
The result is a silky, medium-bodied Saint-Émilion Grand Cru with generous red and black fruit and soft tannins, already a pleasure to drink young.
