Tasting notes

Mature garnet colour with an evolved rim. After more than 40 years, expect a complex bouquet of cedar, cigar box, leather, truffle and dried blackcurrant. The palate should be silky and harmonious, with resolved tannins and a long, savoury finish.

About this wine

Château Léoville Las Cases is a Second Growth of the 1855 classification in Saint-Julien, run by the Delon family. The heart of the estate is the walled Grand Clos of about 55 hectares, which borders the vineyards of Château Latour in Pauillac.

1982 is one of the most celebrated vintages in Bordeaux history, and a bottle of it today is a true collector's rarity. The blend is led by Cabernet Sauvignon and completed by Merlot and Cabernet Franc.

After more than four decades, this wine deserves careful decanting and a special occasion.
