How to serve it
Tasting notes
Pale straw yellow. The nose offers apple, pear, citrus and white flowers with a fine mineral touch. The palate is fresh, clean and balanced, with lively acidity and a dry, precise finish.
About this wine
Château Marjosse is the family estate of Pierre Lurton, director of Château Cheval Blanc and Château d'Yquem, in the heart of the Entre-Deux-Mers between the Garonne and Dordogne rivers. Lurton made his first wine here in 1990.
Today each variety is picked early in the morning and vinified separately to preserve freshness and the character of the clay-limestone soils. The blend is 52% Sémillon, 38% Sauvignon Blanc, 5% Sauvignon Gris and 5% Muscadelle, aged in used 500-litre oak barrels and concrete eggs.
The result is a fresh, clean and balanced dry white with finesse well beyond its price.
