Tasting notes

Deep ruby. Aromas of cherry, plum and blackberry complemented by spice and delicate oak. The palate is full and balanced, with soft tannins, ripe fruit and a dry, lingering finish.

About this wine

The red Château Marjosse comes from Pierre Lurton's vineyards in the Entre-Deux-Mers. Lurton runs Cheval Blanc and d'Yquem, yet calls this estate his home.

The vines grow on clay-limestone soils, and each variety and plot is fermented separately in temperature-controlled concrete vats before the wine matures in French oak. The blend is 80% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Malbec.

The 2021 vintage delivers a deep, generous yet balanced Bordeaux, with ripe dark fruit, gentle spice and soft tannins: a fine example of the quality a great winemaker can draw from a modest appellation.
