Tasting notes

Deep garnet. Red and black forest fruit, blackcurrant and raspberry, complemented by leather, earth and spice. The palate is structured, with firm tannins and a long finish of ripe fruit and liquorice.

About this wine

Château Vignelaure is an organic estate in Rians, Provence, with 55 hectares of vines on clay-limestone soils mixed with gravel, at altitude in the hills north of Aix.

The château's red wine comes from 15 selected hectares of vines around 45 years old and combines Cabernet Sauvignon with Syrah, in proportions that change with each vintage. The pairing gives Provence a Bordeaux-like structure warmed by Mediterranean spice.

The 2015, now with a decade of age, shows the classic profile of the estate, and the practical 500 ml bottle is ideal for a dinner for two.
