About this wine

Castiglioni Chianti in the practical 375 ml half bottle comes from Tenuta di Castiglioni near Montespertoli, one of the historic estates of the Frescobaldi family, who have been making wine in Tuscany for over seven hundred years.

The blend is Sangiovese with a small share of Merlot. The wine ages for six months in stainless steel only, followed by a period in bottle, a choice that keeps the fresh, clean fruit of Sangiovese at the forefront. The 2024 vintage has 12.5% alcohol.

Lively ruby red, it is intensely fruity with cherry, black raspberry and blackcurrant and floral hints; the palate is vivid, fresh and soft with well-defined yet smooth tannins, a perfect single-serving Chianti.
