Tasting notes

Lively ruby red. Aromas of cherry and fresh red berries. The palate is generous and silky, with a rich flavour of forest fruits, soft tannins and a rounded, well-balanced finish. A juicy, uncomplicated red made for easy enjoyment.

About this wine

Castello di Volpaia is a historic estate in Chianti Classico that also makes wine in the Maremma. Citto means "little boy" in Tuscan dialect, and it is the house's young, approachable red.

It is made from organically grown grapes, mainly Sangiovese with Cabernet Sauvignon, from the estate's IGT-classified vineyards in Chianti Classico and the Maremma. Fermentation lasts about ten days in stainless steel, where the malolactic fermentation also takes place, preserving pure, vibrant fruit.

Generous and silky, it is an easy-going everyday Tuscan red that shines at a relaxed dinner table.
