How to serve it
Tasting notes
Deep golden yellow. The nose shows ripe yellow fruit, cinnamon, vanilla, acacia and chestnut honey. The palate is full-bodied, balanced by fresh acidity, with a long finish of toasted almond and candied apricot. A white of real depth and complexity.
About this wine
Graziano Prà is a grower from Monteforte d'Alpone in Veneto who makes wine in Soave and Valpolicella. Colle Sant'Antonio is a selection of Garganega from 30- to 70-year-old vines on the volcanic hills of Monteforte d'Alpone.
In September the canes are cut and the grapes dry on the vine for about a month before being picked in mid-October. Fermentation takes place at 13 °C, and the wine then ages 18 months in large 30-hectolitre Allier oak casks.
Rich yet fresh, it shows how far Soave can go with time; the 2016 in magnum is now at a beautiful stage of maturity.
