Tasting notes

Deep ruby turning garnet. The nose offers small red fruits steeped in spirit, gentle vanilla and a touch of roasted coffee. The palate starts firm, then opens full and dense, with fine tannins, cherry, ripe raspberry and tobacco leaf, ending long and smooth.

About this wine

Canoso is a winery in Monteforte d'Alpone, in the Soave Classico area east of Verona, that harvests all its grapes by hand. Corpo is its Amarone, a powerful red born from the Valpolicella tradition of drying the grapes before fermentation.

The 2016 comes from 30-year-old vines on limestone soils and blends Corvinone and Corvina with a share of Rondinella. It ages for 50 months in large 20-hectolitre Slavonian oak casks and at least 12 months in bottle.

Deep and generous at 16% alcohol, it is an Amarone of real structure, built for special dinners and long ageing.
