Tasting notes

Deep ruby red. The nose offers black cherry, blackberry and red currant with spice, sweet oak and a stony, mineral note. The palate is firm and tannic in youth, with clear structure and a mineral finish without heaviness, gaining density, harmony and complexity with bottle age.

About this wine

Méo-Camuzet is a family estate in Vosne-Romanée with vines in some of the finest climats of Burgundy. The Les Perrières parcel lies north of the village of Aloxe, in the lower part of the slope, facing due east. Its name comes from the stones: the soil is deep but full of rounded, often pink stones, and the vines were planted in 1953 and 1954.

The Pinot Noir ages mostly in new barrels of fine oak, with a small share of used casks.

Austere and tannic in youth, as Corton typically is, it gains density and harmony with time and deserves long cellaring.
