Tasting notes

Pale yellow with green reflections. The nose is fresh and fruity, with peach, apple and apricot. On the palate it is dry, aromatic and lively, with a harmonious medium body and a clean, refreshing finish.

About this wine

Cantina Valle Isarco is a cooperative of around 135 grower members in the Eisacktal, the northernmost wine valley of Alto Adige, where Sylvaner has found its true home in Italy. Thought to originate in Germany, the variety reached Alto Adige around 1900 and is now grown mainly in the Isarco valley.

The Classic Sylvaner comes from south-east-facing vineyards on gravelly alluvial soils containing diorite and quartz phyllite. The grapes are harvested in late September, pressed gently and fermented at controlled temperature, then aged on fine lees in stainless steel with no malolactic fermentation, preserving freshness and varietal fruit.
