Tasting notes

Deep ruby red. Blackberry, dried plum, raspberry and blueberry jam, nutmeg, vanilla and clove, followed by herbs, leather and toasted almond. The palate is full and warm, with lively acidity, firm tannins and a long, spicy finish.

About this wine

Produttori di Manduria is a cooperative in Manduria, Puglia, officially founded in 1932. It brings together around 400 growers, known as the "masters of Primitivo", with nearly 900 hectares of vineyards, most of them trained as traditional alberello bush vines.

Elegia is a Riserva from 35- to 50-year-old Primitivo vines harvested in the second half of September. After fermentation at 22-24 °C the wine macerates for two weeks on the skins, then ages 12 months in French barriques.

Deep and spicy, with lively acidity and firm tannins, it is a powerful yet balanced flagship of the Manduria appellation.
