About this wine

Fonterutoli is the flagship Chianti Classico of the Mazzei family, who have made wine at Castello di Fonterutoli, near Castellina in Chianti, for centuries.

This Sangiovese-based red is assembled from separately vinified parcels across the estate, spanning varied soils and altitudes from 220 to 570 metres above sea level. This mosaic of sites gives a Chianti Classico of balance and complexity.

Intense yet smooth, with dark berries and fresh spice, it is the best-known wine of the estate and a reliable expression of Chianti Classico.
