About this wine

This Gattinara comes from Nervi, the oldest estate in Gattinara (founded in 1906), at the foot of Monte Rosa in northern Piedmont. 2018 was the first vintage after Roberto Conterno of Giacomo Conterno bought the estate, and he made the wine himself.

It is 100% Nebbiolo, known locally as Spanna, and ages at least three years in large oak casks. It is elegant and fresh, with wild rose, redcurrant and kirsch, lively acidity and a mineral, slightly balsamic finish. This listing is the 2018 vintage.
