Tasting notes

About this wine

Lumen is the flagship Riserva of Illuminati, the Controguerra family estate in Abruzzo founded in 1890 as Fattoria Nicò and led today by Stefano Illuminati with his brother Lorenzo. It is produced only in the best vintages.

The wine blends Montepulciano with Cabernet Sauvignon, combining the generosity of Abruzzo's native grape with the structure of the Bordeaux variety. Intense ruby red, it offers blackberry, red currant and ripe red fruit with black pepper.

Well structured, full-bodied and elegant, it is a long-lived red that rewards patience in the cellar.
