Tasting notes

Light ruby. Aromas of red cherry, redcurrant, raspberry and a hint of earth. The palate is light and fresh, with crisp acidity, delicate tannins and a pure, fruity finish. Serve slightly below room temperature in a large glass, letting it breathe briefly to reveal its full aromatic range.

About this wine

Mailly Grand Cru is a growers' house founded in 1929 in Mailly-Champagne, on the northern slopes of the Montagne de Reims. All of its grapes come exclusively from the village's Grand Cru vineyards, where Pinot Noir dominates on chalky soils.

Besides its Champagnes, the house makes a small quantity of still red wine from Grand Cru Pinot Noir under the Coteaux Champenois appellation. It is a rare chance to taste the fruit of Mailly's vineyards without bubbles, in a delicate, northern style.
