About this wine

The Gran Reserva of Marqués de Vargas is made from grapes with the best ageing potential, selected from 52 hectares of estate vineyards on Hacienda Pradolagar, divided into 34 micro-parcels.

The blend is 80% Tempranillo, 10% Garnacha and 10% Mazuelo from vines over 40 years old. It ages 24 months in oak (16 in French, 8 in American) and then three years in bottle before release.

Elegant and opulent, with great ageing potential; Wine Enthusiast gave it 95 points. Serve at 17–18 °C.
