Tasting notes

Bright purple-ruby. Blackberry, cherry and plum on the nose, lifted by garrigue herbs and black pepper. The palate is supple and juicy, with soft tannins, moderate acidity and a warm, spicy middle. The finish is clean, herbal and gently peppery.

About this wine

Moulin de Gassac is the everyday range of Mas de Daumas Gassac, the Languedoc estate founded by Aimé Guibert in the 1970s that proved fine wine could be made in the Hérault valley. The grapes come from a network of growers working the hills around Aniane.

Guilhem Rouge blends Syrah with Grenache and Carignan, fermented separately in stainless steel at cool temperatures and assembled without oak so the fruit stays forward.

It is an honest, unfussy Languedoc red made in the shadow of one of the region's most famous estates.
