Tasting notes

Deep ruby with purple glints. The nose shows black cherry, blackcurrant and small black fruits with earthy and spicy hints. The palate is full and structured, with ripe dark fruit, firm yet polished tannins and a long, savoury finish. A wine with good ageing potential.

About this wine

Philip is the Cabernet Sauvignon of the Mazzei family from their Fonterutoli estate in Tuscany, named in honour of Philip Mazzei, the Florentine who shared his passion for winemaking with Thomas Jefferson in Virginia.

Made from carefully selected Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from the estate, it is released as a Toscana IGT and shows how this Bordeaux variety thrives in the Tuscan hills.

Structured and generous, with black cherry, dark berries and earthy depth, it is a refined red for important meals.
