About this wine

Pieluni Riserva is the most prestigious Montepulciano of Illuminati, a family winery in Controguerra whose story began in 1890 with Fattoria Nicò. It comes from the Colline Teramane, the hills of northern Abruzzo that hold the region's top designation for Montepulciano, and is released only in the best vintages.

The 2019 is intense, dark ruby red, with blackberry, plum and raspberry framed by spice, vanilla, tobacco and liquorice. Structured and rich, it balances freshness and tannins with assurance.
