Tasting notes

Bright ruby red. A fine nose of small red berries, rose petals, a light citrus nuance, spice and herbs. Fresh acidity and good body on the palate, with silky texture, leading to a long, harmonious finish.

About this wine

The Italo Cescon family winery in Roncadelle di Ormelle, Treviso, has been making wine since 1957. This Pinot Nero comes from vineyards in Basalghelle, Fontanelle, Valonto, Monastier and San Polo, planted on clay-rich alluvial soils. The grapes are hand-picked in early September and given a cold maceration before fermentation.

The wine then rests six months in concrete vats and three months in bottle, without any oak, so the delicate fruit of the variety stays in the foreground. It is a fresh, elegant red with good body.
