Tasting notes

Deep cherry-garnet. Complex nose of ripe black fruit, sweet spice, liquorice, vanilla and subtle herbs. Full-bodied, velvety and balanced, with well-integrated oak, ripe tannins and a long, noble finish. Decant at least one hour before serving.

About this wine

San Vicente in a 6-litre Imperial bottle is an impressive Rioja for celebrations, collectors and memorable gifts.

It is made from 100% Tempranillo Peludo, a rare hairy-leaved strain of Tempranillo typical of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, grown in the La Canoca vineyard on calcareous clay with low yields. Deep cherry-garnet, it shows ripe black fruit, sweet spice, liquorice and vanilla, with a full, velvety palate and ripe tannins.

A wine with great ageing potential. Decant at least one hour before serving at 16–18 °C.
