Tasting notes

Bright pink colour. The nose offers strawberry, raspberry and pomegranate with a herbal, slightly green note from the Cabernet grapes. Dry and refreshing on the palate, with crisp acidity, a touch more structure than most rosés and a clean fruity finish.

About this wine

Gomotartzi Rosé 2021 comes from Bononia Estate, a winery in the Vidin region in the far north-west of Bulgaria, on the banks of the Danube. The rosé is made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, an unusual base that gives more structure and a more pronounced herbal note than a typical rosé.

The cool nights of the Danubian Plain preserve the acidity, so the wine stays fresh and lively. The profile is strawberry, raspberry, pomegranate and a touch of green herbs.

Serve very well chilled at 8–10 °C with salads, white meat or as an aperitif.
