Tasting notes

Bright ruby with garnet tones. The nose offers sweet, ripe fruit, led by marasca cherry. The palate is fleshy and juicy, with silky tannins and a long, fruity finish. Hints of plum, violet and sweet spice from the oak add depth, while lively acidity keeps it fresh.

About this wine

"San Lorenzo" takes its name from the vineyard in Osimo where it was first made in 1982, and it is the classic Rosso Conero of Umani Ronchi.

The Montepulciano grapes come from two estates, in Osimo and Ancona, on clay and limestone soils, and are hand-picked from late September to early October. The wine ages for about 12 months in large oak casks and used barriques, followed by six months in bottle.

It is a juicy, generous red that shows the Adriatic side of Montepulciano.
