Tasting notes

Deep ruby with garnet reflections. The nose shows leather, wild forest berries, mint and eucalyptus. The palate brings cherry, raspberry and anise with notes of truffle, firm and refined tannins, vibrant acidity and a very long finish.

About this wine

Salvioni, also known as La Cerbaiola, is a small family estate in Montalcino that released its first Brunello in 1985. Its vineyards lie in three parcels at 420 to 440 metres above sea level, with vines between 10 and 25 years old.

This Brunello is 100% Sangiovese. It ferments for about four weeks without temperature control, then ages typically 36 months in medium-toasted Slavonian oak casks, followed by a similarly long rest in bottle.

The 2015 shows leather, wild berries, mint and eucalyptus, with cherry, raspberry, anise and truffle on a palate held together by firm, refined tannins.
