Tasting notes

Deep, brilliant ruby colour. The nose combines small ripe red and black fruits with herbs, spices and balsamic notes. The palate is deep, tense and energetic, full-bodied but not heavy, with fine tannins and a very long finish.

Avignonesi is a winery in Montepulciano, Tuscany, that farms its vineyards organically and biodynamically and is certified as a B Corp.

"Grandi Annate" is its most ambitious Sangiovese. It is made only in the best years and only from the finest lots of each harvest, with the aim of long ageing in bottle.

The 2015, from a celebrated Tuscan vintage, is deep, tense and energetic: concentrated yet never heavy, with a very long finish. A wine built to age, and a reference point for Montepulciano.
