Tasting notes

Concentrated aromas of ripe red and black fruit with spicy notes and hints of coffee. Full-bodied and well structured, with silky tannins, well-integrated acidity and a long, aromatic finish.

About this wine

Colección Privada is the wine that launched Viñedos Sierra Cantabria, the Eguren family's line of single-vineyard wines from San Vicente de la Sonsierra in Rioja.

It comes from the estate vineyards of Los Terreros and Jararte, planted in 1957 and 1959 on calcareous clay with gravel and small stones. The 100% Tempranillo is hand-harvested and aged 16 months in new French and American barriques in the family's underground cellars.

Concentrated, silky and long. Serve at 16–18 °C.
